Team Manitoba finishes 6th at Canadian Junior Boys Championship

Payne Wood is the low Manitoban after 36-holes of play

Innisfail, Alta. – Carson Inman, Zostrianos Giordana-Gross and Payne Wood concluded the 36-hole inter-provincial team competition of the 2024 Canadian Junior Boys Championship with a final round score of of 7-over par 151 placing them in 6th place. Wood (Team Manitoba / St. Boniface Golf Club) shot second round score one-over par round of 73 while Giordani-Gross of (Shilo Country Club) contributed with a 6-over par round of 78. Carson Inman (Team Manitoba / Portage Golf Club) was 13-over for the day shooting 87.

Team Ontario has successfully defended their title as the Inter-Provincial Team champions. Team Ontario entered the day with a two-shot lead over Team British Columbia (B.C.) and that is exactly how things would end, as the defending champions finished with a combined 10-under score to win back-to-back team championships.

Both Payne (T40) and Giordani-Gross (T59) made the 36-hole cut with scores of 147 and 150 respectively.

Spencer Shropshire of Ramana, Ontario, leads the way carding his second straight round of 6-under par 66 putting him two shots in front of first round leader Matthew Javier.
