Ottawa, Ont. – After a two-year absence from interprovincial team competition at Golf Canada national events, Team Manitoba finished 5th at the 2022 Canadian Junior Girls Championship. The team of Addison Kartusch (73), Cala Korman (78) and Crystal Zamzow (93) shot a team score of +7, a 13 shot improvement from round one, to finish 3 shots clear of 6th place Saskatchewan. Team Ontario rallied for 2-under par team score to move ahead of first round leader Team B.C. to take the interprovincial team title by a slim margin of just 5 shots.
In the individual stroke play competition portion of the event, Addison Kartusch’s round of 1-over par 73 helped propel the 2022 Manitoba Junior Girls Champion 25 spots up the leaderboard and into a tie for 38th place to comfortably make the cut. Other Manitobans also making the cut were Clara Peake (79) of Binscarth, Manitoba at T58 and Jeri Lafleche (75) of Clear Lake Golf Club at T63. Madelin Boyd, Amy Seung Hyun Lee, Erin Lee, Lucy Lin, and Myranda Quinton all fired rounds of two-under par 70 to pace the 136-player field.Â
