Canadian Men's Mid-Amateur Championship

Manitoba finishes second in Team Competition at Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship; 6 Manitobans make the cut

Team Manitoba’s Lyle Mackenzie (Niakwa Country Club) and Drew Jones (Shilo Country Club) both shot a 2-over par 72 in their second round at the Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship earning our province a second place finish in the Inter-Provincial Team Championship.

The combined team score of 3-over par finished two strokes higher than Team Ontario, who had a combined score of 9-under par on day two.

Allan McDonald (Breezy Bend Country Club), also playing for Team Manitoba, finished his week with a 3-over par 73, missing the cut by two strokes.

Along with MacKenzie and Jones, four other Manitobans made the cut advancing to the final 36 holes Thursday and Friday at the Carlton Golf & Yacht Club in Manotick, Ontario:
