Golf Manitoba will introduce a new format of play for two competitions in 2022. The Men’s Provincial Interclub and the Men’s Senior Provincial Interclub events will be played as “Four-Ball” competitions in 2022. The format is as follows:
- The form of play where sides of two partners compete, with each player playing his ball.
- A side’s score for a hole is the lower gross score of the two partners on that hole.
- The partner with the lower score on each hole provides that team’s score for that hole.
- The team with the lowest gross score for 18-holes of stroke play against the entire field will be the winner.
There will be two flights in each competition including a Club Division and an Open Division. The two-person team representing their home club can compete for the overall Club Division title. A two-person team consisting of any two players from a Golf Manitoba member club or Golf Manitoba Public Player are eligible to compete in the Open Division. A team competing in the Club Division will be eligible to win both the Club and Open Divisions.
The Men’s Senior Four-Ball Championship will be held on August 26 at the Oak Island Golf Resort in Oak Island, Manitoba. The Men’s Four-Ball Championship will be held on September 27 at the Southwood Golf & Country Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Entry fees for the competitions are $180 per team per event including GST with online registration now open by visiting golfmb.ca/competitions. Both Four-Ball competitions are open to all eligible Golf Manitoba/Canada members.
