Blair & Lafleche win Gold in Golf at Manitoba Summer Games

Adam Blair (Team Manitoba / Pine Ridge Golf Club) and Jeri Lafleche (Niakwa Country Club) struck gold in the respective Boys and Girls divisions at the Manitoba Summer Games powered by Manitoba Hydro at Gilbert Plains Country Club.

Carding a final round 75, to finish the 36 hole championship at 152, Blair erased a three stroke deficit entering his final round to earn a one stroke victory over Team East’s Brady Comaskey (Team Manitoba / Pine Ridge). Comaskey shot a 78 Tuesday to end play at 153 for a silver medal while first round leader Winnipeg Gold’s Brayden Boge (Team Manitoba / Pine Ridge) takes home a bronze medal after an 80.

Winnipeg Blue won the Team Championship by two strokes over Winnipeg Gold.

Lafleche won Gold in the girls event with a 16 stroke victory over Team West’s Payton Oakden (Team Manitoba / Glendale Golf & Country Club). Lafleche shot a 78 Tuesday to finish at 155 while Oakden had an 80. Team Winnipeg Blue’s Jewel Lafleche (Niakwa) won the bronze medal at 181 following a final round 89.

Winnipeg Gold also won the Team Championship. Winnipeg Blue placed second.
